I am almost always cold from October through February, even if the apartment or house temperature is set at 68.

(Clickity-click and shoppity-shop! It’s an image map, so you can click on this picture and shop your heart out!)

Because of my perpetual fall/winter chill, I own several ridiculous items to help keep me warm: a hot water bottle with a rainbow water-bottle-cozy, microwavable herbal mittens, down slippers, several pairs of slipper socks, bright rainbow flannel PJs, and (perhaps my favorite) an adult sleep sack, which I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet (instead, I found several “baby sleep sacks” and lots of sleeping bags). My sleep sack is several years old, and is basically a big fleece bag with little holes for your hands and feet to come out. I am shameless, and will wear my sleep sack with my flannel PJs, robe, slipper socks, and microwavable mittens. TRUE STORY.

MORAL: I know a lot of ways to keep warm. One might say I’m an expert I also know that there are other people out there who are like me: cold of body, warm of heart. And, you probably have to buy one of these people a gift. HENCE, The Official Stickers & Donuts Gift Guide for the One Who is Always Cold.

  1. Heated Herbal Lavendar Bunny Slippers from Wrapables, $30: Cute and functional.
  2. Brunswick Bootwarmers Crochet Pattern in PDF from BellaMcBride on Etsy, $5: Yeah, you could knit a hat or a scarf. But why be boring?
  3. Long Leg Warmer (in Florescent Lime Green) from American Apparel, $16: Also comes in several exciting colors. Brightens any outfit, or wear under your jeans for extra warmth.
  4. Fleece Owl Hat from Fabric Ninja on Etsy, $30: Other animals available. I happen to have knitted monkey hat with matching gloves, and get several compliments and/or stares every time I wear it. I think everyone with a child-like heart should own a hat designed as an animal.
  5. Mukluk (slipper socks) from Victoria’s Secret, $35: Most of my loungewear doesn’t make a fashion statement. It makes more of an “I am cold and I don’t care what I look like” statement. But, these are fashionable and functional. Stripey Pink is my favorite color! (Apparently, these are also available at Old Navy and more dark green and other more subdued colors.)
  6. ***Earpops Bandless Ear Muffs from Earpops, $8: Pop them right over your ears. Earpops actually has color and pattern choices that put American Apparel to shame! Plus, if you buy 3 you get an extra free (also, the more you buy the cheaper they are). And, you can get them in a fury variety. I just wish they could fashion one for my nose, too.
  7. Warming Mittens from Always Brilliant, $14: What can I say? Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  8. Hot Water Bottle with Fleece Cover from The Vermont Country Store, $14: If you are a connoisseur, you can actually find hot water bottle covers all over the internet, and especially on Etsy. I like to stuff a freshly filled hot water bottle under my covers and down to my feet right before I go to bed.
  9. Wool Cosy Neck Warmer (hand knit) from Knitting Carnival on Etsy, $50: This is a little more elegant than giant, microwavable handmits.
  10. Elephant Warmer from the Moma Store, $7 (SALE): So, apparently the blue elephant is gone, but the yellow one is on sale and waiting to keep you warm (after being put in the microwave).
  11. Warm Underwear from Cudl Dudds, $25: At Cornell, I wore my Cudl Dudds EVERYDAY that was 60 degrees or less. The bottoms are especially great because they are thin and fit comfortably under jeans. I usually wait for a JC Penny sale and get a bunch.
  12. Double Wall Chocolate Jug from Bodum, $90: Okay, so there are cheaper chocolate jugs out there (example: this chocolate jug is also from Bodum and is on sale for $20 (HALF PRICE) – if I weren’t unemployed, I’d purchase it RIGHT NOW), but this one has DOUBLE the walls, which means your chocolaty chocolate goodness will stay warmer longer.
  13. Big Feet Fleece (Adult Footsie PJs) from Big Feet PJs, $45: These come in a variety of colors and fabrics (cotton, polar-fleece, cashmere, and jersey knit). You can also select to get your PJs with or without the “drop-seat.” (Apparently, they were in a gift basket at some awards show, so you can see lots of celebs like Taylor Swift & actors from The Office holding their footsie pajamas.)
