um yeah it’s expensive. i got mine new but it has warranties. you can get some on craigslist 2nd hand for much cheaper though. though not 1000 cheaper! :)
i get the same hand feel with the wacom intuos anyway. at least with that, you don’t have to be as careful as it’s not as fragile.
I love to also gelpens...becourse they are adorable...and cute....my friends to lot of die to hellokitty...and me tooo....I havn`t find to here in gelpen i hellokitty....sri lanka....: I realy love to this

have you tried using a cintiq?
I have a wacom, but it is independent of the display. The Cintiq looks ridiculously awesome — if they could just come down in price approx $1000!
