So I’ve been MIA because I took a visit home, & now I am sick : (. But while I was home, I went through some of my favorite children’s books, taking lots of pictures!, so I could post them here.
This week I thought I’d feature an out of print book called My Head is Full of Colors by Catherine Friend. (If you want a copy, you should troll half.com, amazon.com, and the like.)

I have a special affinity for this book because it stars a girl named… MARIA! She wakes up one morning to find her head is full of colors — literally, but also figuratively, as she becomes obsessed with drawing with colors.
She wakes up different mornings and finds her head full of different things — BOOKS, people, animals. She is just like me, obsessed with one thing and then the next!

SPOILER: In the end, she wakes up with her boring old regular hair and learns that her head can be full of many things at once!

/giggles: That reminds me of when my hair was purple. A little girl next to me whispered (loudly) to her mom that she wanted purple hair, too. I laughed and told her that her hair could be whatever color she wanted, to which her mom readily agreed – when she was 13 instead of six. :3
Come thirteen her mom might up the age on that one to 18! : )
Ahahahahaha. This book is basically your soul mate.
It does very much seem to be about EXACTLY me (except when her head is full of people, since I am generally afraid of those).
