Since I don’t have a car at my disposal all of the time, the time I’d otherwise spend window-shopping at the mall I spend window-shopping on the internet. Many an hour has been spent filling e-baskets with goods and services, only to delete them (while pretending I actually hit the “checkout” button) or let them languish in open tabs. But now I have the means to force my desires on the rest of the internets. So now I present today’s diversion: I Want To Buy – Holiday Party Edition!

1) The dress is the foundation for this outfit – a nice basic black, with a cute cowl that makes it cozy for the winter. The Express Cowl-Neck Sweater Dress also comes in red and grey/white stripes. It’s belted at the waist to help define that hourglass shape! If like me you live in the arctic north, then jazz it up a bit more with some brightly colored tights. Check out We Love Colors, which has an AMAZING selection. They are the Baskin-Robbins of legwear. … Now I want ice cream.
2) Because I am a heretic, I favor the version of Pride & Prejudice with Matthew Macfadyen over the Colin Firth one. Because Hot Mr. Darcy is so HOT. Have you SEEN him?

“I love you, Elizabeth Amber.”
SO HOT (and wet). Anyways, anything that reminds me of Hot Mr. Darcy automatically goes on my “MUST HAVE” list. It’s in capitals, that’s how serious this list is. Therefore the Ms. Darcy Bracelet, which also seems to indicate that by owning it I will be married to Mr. Darcy, is an immediate need.
3) If you aren’t reading Sea of Shoes then you are doing yourself a disservice. Unless you don’t like shoes, which makes me a little sad. The collaboration of Jane Aldridge & Urban Outfitters resulted in an amazing collection, in which the Tall Buckle Boot caught my eye. Fancy boots are great for the cold & snow, since the need to be sex-ay wars with the need to not slip on ice and die. A nice stacked heel & cushioned footbed make these shoes comfy AND fashionable! Super win!
4) I am constantly on the prowl for the perfect bag. Because I carry basically everything I may ever need with me at any given time my bags are usually quite large. In fact, my current bag is actually a briefcase. And just when I was beginning to doubt the existence of this perfect bag, the Pocketful of Pretty Bag came along! It is large (although perhaps not in charge), pretty, and converts between a shoulder bag and a tote! I will now take this time to point out that gift-giving opportunities are rapidly approaching, and if you feel the need to cheer up a certain Stickers & Donuts writer, this is basically a giant hint.
5) The Perlah necklace is amazing, because not only can you wear it super long (and live out your flapper fantasies), but you can double it up, tie a knot in it, or wrap it so many times around your wrist for a chunky bracelet that could likely deflect bullets (don’t try this). Since pearls go with everything, this is a multi-use investment every lady needs to make.
6) In what I can only assume was a miracle, I actually found the Dressy Pearl Trio at my local Forever21! (They almost never have what is actually shown on the website.) I love F21′s super low prices, and since I have multiple ear piercings the sets are perfect for mixing and matching. I wore the top and bottom earrings to work & was complimented many times! Sometimes by people I didn’t even know! It was frightening but thrilling. NOTE – this set is now gone, try the Floral Pearl Trio instead!
7) I love Etsy. So many cute, fancy things that I need need need, (mostly) all handmade! The Snow Flowers Bridal Comb by Etsy seller WhichGoose definitely falls into this category. Hair combs work for every hair type and length, and make doing your hair a snap. In fact, a simple bun, ponytail or side-parted-bob would probably be the best backdrop for this dramatic spray of flowers. HAIR PROBLEMS SOLVED. You’re welcome.
Yes, I just went there.

Haha no worries about P&P. I love Matthew Macfadyen as Mr.Darcy!
Good list! Especially love that bag!
However, I bought that Ms. Darcy bracelet (or an identical one) from Urban Outfitters this time last year, and after a few wears all the fake-gold colour came off it and discoloured my wrist. Yuck. :( Save your money!
Yeah, I internet shop in the exact same way!
(Additionally, I actually wish that I could combine Colin Firth with Kiera Knightly for my dream version of P&P.)
Oh, Amber. Here’s a more controversial statement: I don’t like Pride and Prejudice (the book). The movies, I like (technically I’ve only seen part of the Colin Firth one, but I think I’d still like the Kiera Knightly version more even if I plunged through the entire Colin Firth edition). I’ve tried really hard to make it through the book, but I always get tired of borgeois marrying chatter and put the book back on the shelf for the future.
Maybe I just have a cold heart.
Tessa – We are now fast friends. Let’s hang out around Derbyshire, in a not at all creepy fashion.
Hannah – Oh no your bracelet! I have my suspicions about UO’s quality, but I’ll keep your suggestion in mind. What I really want is the Mrs. Darcy engagement ring, haha.
Maria – That would be mighty hot, I’ll agree.
Tricia – CONFESSION: I feel the same way about a lot of Jane Austen novels. I like the movie versions because they bring the settings to life, which I find infinitely more interesting than “Oooh, you can’t marry him” and so on. Except for Hot Mr. Darcy. (Because I didn’t cry watching “The Notebook” I was told I have no heart! Same for my best friend!)
AMBER, THE HATRED I HAVE FOR THE NOTEBOOK IS GREATER THAN THE HATRED I HAVE FOR ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS WORLD (almost). I’m glad that we have that in common. My hatred for The Notebook has been publicly expressed on my facebook profile for years.
One time, a middle-aged lady at work babbled how The Notebook is her favorite movie. I said I hated it, and her response: “Tricia, I will never look at you in the same way again.”
End of notebook stories.
