I’m so happy to know I’m not the only one obsessed with this topic… For the “by color” organisation system, I’m torn between “I so wanna do that” and Harriet’s objections. But after all, my books are just stacked everywhere, so I guess it wouldn’t be a big difference, reference-wise.

I’m a habitual stacker – it’s how I clean – so bookshelves are one of my loves, too. I like being able to see all my stuff, yanno? I sold two beautiful blondewood shelves when I moved from Buffalo to Ontario and I’ve been kicking myself ever since! I totally dig these asymmetrical and bizzarro styles. Makes me want to hit IKEA.

I am absolutely obsessed with books & organizing them, so bookshelves are one of my FAVORITE TOPICS. I am SO TEMPTED to organize by color, but since I need to reference them a lot I have them organized in obscure categories such as “my favorite novels” “novels I may want to reference frequently” and “novels I’ve only partially completed” (etc). Actually, the #2 bookshelf might be good for my obscure categories…
