I love the show. It reminds me of classic detective novels/stories.
I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. TV sucks now a days. This
show has given me hope. There are still some good writers out there.
Can’t wait for new episodes! P.S. I thought Jason was funny in Spun.

I have a super crush on Jason Schwartzman… Which is even more obvious to me now that I realize I have to pause the Coconut Records song on my Phantom Planet pandora station to watch the intro for Bored to Death. Sadly, I don’t get HBO anymore so I will have to wait to netflix this series. In the mean time I’ll watch I <3 Huckabees and watch Marky Mark and my lover boy hit each other in the face with a giant bouncy ball.

Great post! I keep hearing bits and pieces about this since it’s about Jonathan Ames, who is actually a writer / a writer for the show. And, of course, I love the book intro.

I used to watch it, but then I momentarily gave up almost all TV, and subsequently gave up watching Bored to Death. I mostly enjoyed it when I watched it!

In high school, my favorite bands were Rooney and Phantom Planet (living a beachy California life through my music choices?). At the time, Jason Schwartzman was the drummer of Phantom Planet, so I can understand your appreciation for him.
