The Point
Good, fun art & design! We at Stickers and Donuts search the internet, magazines, tv, and the world (well, NYC and maybe a little Chicago!) for pretty and crafty things. (Inspiration for your next project, perhaps?) We also hunt down cool, well-designed, or well-thought-out little doodads and whatnots for you to enjoy (well, we enjoy them, anyway).
There is a little place in our heart for books (books are just well-designed words, come on), graphic design, DIY crafts, and public projects because we feel that art is meant for everyone’s pleasure. While we occasionally may feature some pretty, unaffordable but inspiring thing, we’d rather focus on items that are available for regular-old, non-celebrity, human consumption, or will prompt you into an artistic frenzy of your own. (We just love artistic frenzies.) We also plan to have lots of original content as time goes on: tutorials, projects, and the like.
So, yes, whoever you are, if you are reading this about page, then this site is made for you. Really, we were thinking of exactly you when we came up with it. Creepy.
The Name
You don’t have to look to $4,000 bags for artistic inspiration. Even stickers ($.25, and, as we’ve been discovering, often free if you have sticker printer paper) and donuts ($.50) are pretty (not to mention fun, youthful, colorful, and really fun to decorate).
The Staff
Editor
After living in rural New Jersey (it does exist) her entire life, Maria went to Cornell University where she graduated with degrees in English and Psychology. She currently works as a visual merchandiser in the fashion industry, runs Stickers & Donuts, writes fiction in her spare time, writes & creates other things in her spare-spare time (like her personal blog, her occasionally updated quote-collection blog, a guidebook to Cornell, corny essays, youtube videos, and once-upon-a-time she even interviewed Colin Powell), and lives in a lime green & turquoise apartment in Queens, New York. She does too many crafts, has too many hobbies, and, despite her almost complete lack of athletic ability, currently runs 20 miles per week. She likes stickers. And donuts (hence the running). You can email her at maria@stickersanddonuts.com.
Amazing Contributor
For nearly her entire life, Tricia has lived within an hour from downtown Chicago. The first exception involved a three-year stint at a cornfield-barricaded school with ceilingless classrooms. She graduated from Cornell University (another Illinois exception!) with a degree in the Biological Sciences and concentrations in the Nutritional Sciences and Southeast Asian studies. There she met Maria, who introduced her to the wonders of Photoshop and InDesign. She currently works at a law firm, where she exercises her strong command of office support skills. She enjoys pre-disheveled New York Times, the sound of two opposite trains passing one another, colors named after East Coast locales (ex: Nantucket Red, Cape Cod Blue), Three 6 Mafia/Blink 182/Weezer sing and dance-a-longs with her friends, and 90s television shows (ex: Freaks and Geeks, My So Called Life). She also likes purchasing frivolous items, being domestic, making crafty things for people, and admiring her growing headband collection. If you are so inclined, you can stalk her on her personal blog and last.fm page.

Really Obsessed? (Donate please!)
Why would you donate money to me? It costs money and ridiculous amounts of time to keep this site here, udpated, and fresh. Right now, I am a one man team blogging 7 to 20 posts a week! I enjoy it, but there is a huge energy input! So, if you enjoy my blog or find something particularly helpful, think of it as a magazine subscription and send a few bucks my way. I’ll kiss your feet. Muah!
